Al-Istiqaamah: The Right and Upstanding way.
Never do harm unless to defend and maintain the right to life, innate well-being and honorable livelihood.
Tyranny is a grave sin and brings no lasting good.
Always respect the human rights of all those that you have the power to influence or affect.
Man, woman and child. Human hearts lie in all of their chests.
Never abuse any power that God has given to you.
Seek discernment and insight always so that you will not lose.
To be content with or choose ignorance is to open the door of your heart and mind,
To Satan, our open enemy, who can employ tricks of every kind.
Always know that there is always the possibility that you could be wrong;
Wrong about everything that you think you know.
Only God is truly all-knowing, all-wise. How else do you expect to grow?
With that said, always be confident if you are making the best decision that you know how to make.
That is the foundation of sound science and wisdom, the paths that we must take.
Always strive to be an agent of blessing and excellence for yourself and those whom you can influence and affect.
For this you will gain God's pleasure and, from his angels, you will gain respect.
Always protect and prefer the bond of blood, unless that blood has been tainted;
Tainted itself because with tyranny and vice it has become well acquainted.
Even still, always be ready to help those who have a bond of blood with you.
A wife must honor her husband and obey him as is due,
as she knows that he is good, honorable and just to the best of his ability too.
If a man lacks these qualities she should never agree to be married to him.
A husband must never be a tyrant to his wife, putting her at risk, both life and limb.
He must use his authority to help her grow and be well,
respecting her mind and heart as best as he can.
And he must listen to her advice when he knows she knows better.
He is a despotic fool if he does not do these things to the very letter.
And she is a libertine and a rogue if she does not do her part, seeing it as a fetter.
And although a woman may only have one husband at a time and a man may have as many wives as he pleases,
A man must never take on other wives if in his home and family this would cause dis-eases.
Always seek honor and develop it as your most essential character. Do not be uncouth.
This is what God wants of us in his ordering al-ma'ruf.
If you do not embrace the discipline that pursuing honor in all things brings,
then you will fall victim to frivolities, viceful liberties and libertines,
all of which debase the soul and distance it from God
the way a swimmer is swept from the ocean's shore by the undercurrent's constant nod.
Always know that you may die tomorrow, better yet tonight!
Having ignored your master so much, do you want to meet Him in that light?
What excuse can you give when you see your foul and ugly excuses before you?
Your sins will be like fetid and infected wounds, and even you will abhor you!
You will wish they were as far from you as they could ever be?
Know that as long as you live God has shown you subtle, overt and overlooked mercy.
He has given you a chance to repent and turn to Him.
Once you pass, that mercy will reach its end,
For too many of us, Women and Men.
Know that all the suffering in the world is to remind you that the purpose of this,
is as an imperfect testing ground. It will never be permanent bliss.
It is meant to cause you to long for something bigger, better, and always perfect.
That is why champions go from fountains of strength to being weak and sick.
You cannot be a constant criminal and be saved, my friend.
You cannot be a rebel and be saved in the end.
The humble, the enduring, the even-keeled will be saved.
Those who loved wisdom, even it could not be attained.
Those who loved truth even if it humiliated them,
telling them that they were not who they thought they were;
Invigorating them to disintegrate their sins.
Those who realized that their suffering and their enjoyment were all a part of God's plan to mold,
to form and to test the quality of their souls.
Those who had no problems putting their faces to the ground,
to a mat, to clean earth, bowing all the way down,
towards his Holy shrines as they were told.
They will be saved for constantly being so bold.
Those who would help themselves whenever and with whatever they could,
are the true possessors of taqwaa. They are doing as they should.
They protect themselves with the bullet, the sword, reflexes and their fists.
But more importantly through open minds, ears, careful words, and sifting gists.
They wet their pens, frequent the study hall and develop their acumen.
There is no such thing as Kaffir knowledge; only crafty lies from crafty men.
Useful knowledge is insight and insight always benefits .
Beneficial knowledge leads to growth and the best growth is comprehensive.
This is Zakaah and it is the key to arriving to a godly station,
A powerful one here on earth and a glorious one endowed with patience.
Watch your anger and your tongue, and never underestimate the power of a serious heart.
To enact these teachings is to put the horse before the cart.
Seek the balance to love with mercy, honor and for wisdom's sake,
and to put a severe stop to foolishness, ignorance and hate.
Do not fear the distorting, humiliating and destructive power that this world can visit upon you and your kin.
If it befalls you it is God's will that he bring you closer to Him;
And that he bring your scoffers to the heat of the fire, even though this life and its torment may never seem to end.
To refine is the purpose of this universal mill.
This is, without a doubt, our supreme lord's, and only true master's, will.
